Absolute Zero was formed in September of 2005 in preperation for Jonathan Schang's senior recital in December. Five young lads came to Jonathan's aid(Tyler Beach-guitar, Rob Haight-sax, Patrick Mulcahy-bass, Marty Tilton-trumpet, and Bryan Tipps-trombone) and selflessly devoted themselves to the music for months, often going days without even the most basic forms of sustenance. The group hopes to start playing shows in the Chicagoland area quite soon, and is open to any and all performace opportunities. You can hear this group on Crater and State of Nature (hopefully longer samples of these will be posted sometime soon).Braintree is comprised of John NIchols (keyboards) and Jonathan Schang (drums). The two have been musical collaborators for over a decade, and in this latest project, they have composed their own modern-day concert etudes for keyboard and drumset. The group has a CD available, "Braintree-Live in Marks Hall" from which the tracks "Two's Company" and "What Goes Up Must Come Down" are taken. Braintree performs sporadically around Chicago and would love to hear from anyone interested in putting on a show.
