"More
kick drum in the monitor please!" Howdy...I beat drums; I live in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains with my lovely wife Wendy and two children Evan & Olivia; I like to backpack, listen to live music, look at art, day hike, cook fine food, go the gym, tattoos, do home improvements, drink fine wine, watch dvds on the home theater, the Ipod, Photoshop and design...I work in Charlottesville, Va doing graphic design/publishing.
In a nutshell....Jason began his musical journey as most do, through band classes throughout Junior High and High School. His talents shined as regional, state and multi-state honor band awards came his way. With roots beginning from a symphonic/drum corp background, it wasn’t long until Jason converted over to drum kit and hooked up with some fine local musicians around the Charlottesville music scene. He rocked the 90s with rock bands Cross Grain and Blind Ambition as well as founding the successful acoustic folk-funk band, Uncle Remus. In later years, Jason joins forces with local music icon Gary Hawthorne, guitarist for popular 80s band Modern Logic. Together they create two fine original bands, Cowgomoo and Neon Kings.
Recent gigs include fill-ins with The Chris Winter Band and blues guitarist Eli Cook. Jason spends two years playing live with Eli sharing the stage with a list of blues artists that include The Nighthawks, Tom Principato, Sean Costello and Debbie Davies to name a few. Also catch Jason's playing on Eli's first CD Moonshine Mojo...a collector's item we hear with limited releases each year!
Jason’s current project; his own creation SOUTH29. S29 is RAW in your FACE ROCKin BLUESaDELIC music that cuts right through the heart of Virginia leaving its audiences awash in a simmering blend of blues, funk, and rock. A group of classically trained and unchained musicians, South29 lays down tracks channeling the great blues men of years past with their own style of right-between-the-eyes riffs. Jason infuses the talents of six-string guitar slinger Chase Tanner, bassist John Keefe and vocalist/harp man Wave Milor. Check out S29's page for more...
