About Me

Screenwriter, Producer, and Entrepreneur. Check me out on IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2009523/I enjoy working on feature film sets, especially the big tentpole studio films which ultimately become the mega blockbusters that fuel the box office. I get an adrenaline rush from being on set at these films. I've been fortunate to have been a set production assistant on The Dark Knight (God Bless Heath Ledger--may his soul rest in peace), directed by Christopher Nolan, Wanted (see trailer below), and now Public Enemies, the 1930s period piece about John Dillinger and his gang, starring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale, directed by Michael Mann. I never intended to pursue a career in film, otherwise I probably would've attended film school rather than spend 10 years in sales and operations management in the trucking business after graduating with a degree in English at NIU. But I have no regrets. I have found finally found something I love to do. Better late than never, I say!

I'd like to meet:

People with character, integrity, and compassion. I also enjoy meeting those that don't take their life too seriously. People often get too self-absorbed in their own little world that they take things like their health, friends, and even their happiness and general well-being for granted. You've got to have a sense of humor and adventure to help cope with adversity. Sometimes I can't help but laugh at times when I should be most stressed. If I didn't, I'd probably be institutionalized. Or perhaps I'm already borderline insane which is why I laugh in the first place.

Music:

My tastes are ridiculously eclectic. I'll listen to whatever suits me at any given moment. I believe in different music for writing, chillin', contemplating, working out, lovemaking, and dancing...Some songs cross over into these categories but not always. Whatever nurtures your soul, listen to it, and enjoy!

Movies:

Godfather, Scarface, Goodfellas, The Untouchables, Braveheart, Tombstone, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Pulp Fiction, Glengarry Glen Ross, Casino, Mean Streets, Life is Beautiful (La Vita E Bella), and so many, many more.

Television:

I rarely have time to watch TV anymore...I TIVO things that stay in the DVR for at least a year then eventually get recorded over. I suppose I am anticipating another season of 24 but that won't be until Jan. 2009, thanks to the WGA strike. When football season comes around, I'll spend my Sundays and Monday nights watching the NFL.

Books:

Anything by R.A. Salvatore, Terry Brooks, Tolkien, Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum, Leon Uris, and James Patterson to name a few. I also enjoy classic English and American literature.

Heroes:

None come to mind. I guess it would be any parent who raises their child better than they themselves were raised, learns from the mistakes their own parents made rather than perpetuating the behavior, and finally takes time to build their child's confidence as well as to teach their children to dream and to follow their hearts' pursuits without passing judgment or interfering with their individuality while at the same time instilling strong morals, good conscience, and respect for others.

Creative Process

The creative process remains mind-boggling to me, especially for writers.  Most painters and other visual artists know when they're finished with a piece of work.  But for the wordsmith, goo...
