I am here for Networking

About Me

I co-run and DJ as staff/resident dj in Dominion Ireland's only weekly goth/industrial/EBM/alternative club and have done, since it's inception 7 yrs ago.
Over the past 14 years, I've organised as promoter 2 gothic club nights in the hallowed venue that was McGonagles back in '92, taking over the void that Fetish left behind.
The second event called Badlands, spurred on the formation of the infamous Badlands nights (RIP) by friends of mine, who were the dj's at the time.
I then took a breather to concentrate on other things and became a "regular goff punter" again for a few years and frequented Badlands, Badlands revisited/The Gathering, Tower, Golgotha & Redemption.
But by '99 I was ready to get back into the game again and I made my dj'ing debut in Golgotha (RIP) in '99.
I've also guest DJ-ed for various Goth nights, in Ireland:- opening night of Stigma (RIP) in '99, guest dj'd again for Golgotha in '00 and forSindrome (RIP) in 02.
Internationally:- Intermission (RIP), Belfast in '99, and for Where The Wild Eva Lives, gothic party in Neuchatel, Switzerland in 2000 for DJ Twilight aka Shelleyan here on Myspace.
I've also dj'd for a few gothic weddings here and abroad but I've, er, yet to do the funeral! :p
I am on Live Journal as aurniam and I co-manage the Dominion Live Journal Community and also the Dominion Myspace Group.
Since I'm busy with work, etc. these days, I'm not cruising for internet friends, gothic personals or fuckwits. Don't take it personally. I have enough real friends.
Any nonsense and you're banned and your comments will be taken down.
However if you are a friend of a friend or someone I know in real life send me a message saying who you are and/or who's friend you are and we'll see.
If I like your music/dj-mixes, I'll be more than happy to help promote you.
Pass along this small tribute, copy this code.

My Interests

Music, DJ'ing, reading, going to gigs - live music, Tai Chi Chuan, Zen Buddism, Taoism, Art, Egypt, Reiki, aromatheraphy, swords, fashion among other things.

I'd like to meet:

Dj's, musicians, singer/songwriters and bands of a goth/indus/indie nature.
But I'll make an exception for the Dalai Lama

Music:

Way way too much to go into - I'm a music addict..
But here's a quick recap on genre's and in no particular order :- alternative, goth, indie, industrial, electronica, electronic, darkwave, coldwave, ebm, gothmetal, some metal (not a lot and I'm picky on it), medieval, ambient, 60's, 70's (some), 80's, newwave, beat and 2 tone, Northern Soul, ethereal, folk, darkfolk, celtic, some deathrock, some punk, electroclash, jazz, cabaret, rhythm & blues (not the modern r&b as people think of these days - more brassband and old style stuff, though there are a handful of the modern r&b artists I do like), blues, soul, gospel, swing, glamrock, reggae, shoegazer, some techno and trance, classical, opera and good ole rock and roll.
While my main interests is goth and related music, I find that purely listening to just this genre is extremely limiting and not good for one's overall soul and especially as music is the food for the soul.
So on that note - my tastes are pretty broad and encompase a wide selection of genres.

Movies:

Vampire & horror films, the Hammer Horror films, Sci Fi, some spaghetti westerns, detective, classic black and white - both gangster & Ealing studio types, the bratpack films from the 80's, ganster & mob films (eg by Tarantino, Guy Richie) and on the lines of Scarface and mafia types, films of a martial art and swordsmanship nature and classic old World War II films. For the music addict in me - High Fidelity & Empire Records. Some comedy but none of the usual crap that stands for comedy.

Television:

Murder mysteries, Forensic Detectives, FBI files, Police dramas, scientific and some medical dramas. Current - Most Haunted and Dead Famous. Used to watch X-Files & Twin Peaks. Comedy - mainly British and Irish rather than from the US, eg Black Books, Father Ted, Blackadder, Fawlty Towers. And of course The Simpsons. Some documentaries and a few soaps.

Books:

Horror, vampire, sci fi/dark fantasy, history and in particular Egyptian history. Some regular fiction novels and High Fidelity for the music addict in me and insight to the male brain! :p
