Tanzwut

(lat. Epilepsia Saltatoria)
Encouraged by overwhelming responses to their live-cd/dvd (2004),Tanzwut recorded for the new album "SCHATTENREITER" not less than 18 new songs in the studio.
The Medieval-Industrial-rocker from Berlin are dancable as always but this time it..s far more rock. Because they attached more importance to the fact that they want to catch the energy of their live shows also in the studio. The musicians of Tanzwut never made it easy for the listeners to compare their music to one of the ordinary music styles. And also the new album will continue this tradition in an amazing kind of way. Friends of music can expect a crazy and refreshing mixture fo styles that shows that music is possible besides the usual categories.
The one who knows the band won..t be very surprised by that. It all started with experimental Electro-Industrial ("Tanzwut" - 1999), then there was more rock and melody ("Im Labyrinth der Sinne" - 2000), in order to show with elements from Ska to Metal that there are no limits that can..t be passed ("Ihr wolltet Spaß" - 2003). And, of course, there are always the - built in their own workshop - bagpipes which is the bands own characteristical sound. Now this way will be continued fresh and cheeky and with a clear harder progress. The double cd begins with the title song "Schattenreiter", a noisy Industrial-Metal song that also shows that breakbeats can be drummed live. In memory of all, this song is caused by the ones who accompanied us in our lives for a while and influenced us lasting in this short period of time until today.
But this is just one musical facet with which Tanzwut makes us happy this time. The spectrum lasts from Rock..n..Roll "Im tiefen Gras", a damn evil scary song "Kaltes Grauen", hard uptempo songs like "Vulkan", punk midtempo songs "Du sagst" to trashy HC-Metal in the song "Geisterstunde". Of course, the own favorite tradition to work on a classic of the German music culture will be continued. Until now, L.v.Beethoven was the model but now, Tanzwut covered the famous "Toccata" in d-minor of J.S.Bach to make a powerful anthem. For that, they "moved" with their recording equipment in a church in Berlin.
The double album SCHATTENREITER will be released in a limited first edition as an extravagant designed 8-page-digipack with a 20-page-booklet. A cookie for fans is surely a cd-rom-part on the second cd with a video "Tanzwut in Moskau 2005" (14 min) and a login (possible with the cd) to a special area on the homepage with various download offers and exclusive background information.
Teufel (vocals), Wim (bass), Patrick (guitar), Norri (drums), Hatz (electrodrums), Ardor (bagpipes) and new: Jordon (bagpipes). That..s the band since spring 2007.
