ABOUT BASTARD JAZZ:
Bastard Jazz was founded by two friends and likeminded individuals, Aaron Schultz (DJ DRM) of Brooklyn, NY and J. J. Marley of Orlando, Florida in 2001.
Always striving for change and looking towards the next horizon, Bastard Jazz has made it's mark by not only developing it's roster of artists (Jugoe, Saru, Mujaji, Hydroponic Sound System, the UK's Mawglee and The Magic Fly), but also culminating remixes to round out our 12"s from a broad array of producers whose music we love: Q-Burn's Abstract Message, Hint, Jon Kennedy, Adventure Time (Frosty + Daedelus), Apeanaut, Dr. Rubberfunk, Ed Royal + Enne, J*Star, Nickodemus, Zeb, Protassov and the Dub Nomads have all shared in our musical vision alongside our core artists. Our DJ roster includes Paul Digs, Sema4, Mr. Marley & DRM.
Sometimes downtempo, sometimes organic breakbeats with both feet firmly on the dancefloor, generally dub influenced, and always fresh..that's pretty much what we do.
