Triple Hex

co-ed nocturnal rock-n-roll combo

About Me

Triple Hex is a nocturnal co-ed sex-beat garage rock-n-roll combo from NYC. They have been playing to NYC hipsters and the like since 2001. The Triple Hex sound interprets the blues with gritty-dirty razorblade guitars, echoey-crooning baritone vocals and solid primal/Pagen secret beats. They have toured the U.S. and Europe sharing the stage with The Cramps, The BellRays, Southern Culture On the Skids, The Subsonics, Kid Congo Powers (The Gun Club, The Cramps, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds), The Von Bondies, etc...
Triple Hex is Dave Hex on vox & guitar, Julie Hex on the secret pagan beats/vox and Mark Hex on bass guitar. Triple Hex released the Phantom Highway 13 E.P. recorded by Matt Verta-Ray (Speedball Baby, Heavy Trash) in the spring 2005. Phantom Highway 13 received considerable national radio play and was on many Best of 2005 lists. Watching VH1(I dunno, maybe you're bored) and think you hear some of that Brooklyn r'n'r sound? Yup thats Triple Hex. They had a few songs featured on VH1 in 2005 and 2006. Triple Hex did their first recording with Jerry Teel (Chrome Cranks, Boss Hogg, Honeymoon Killers) in 2002

Sounds Like: "Co-ed, local punkabilly swampsters riding the death-dragstrip down Phantom Highway 13which ghostly road they hiccup about twice on their current EP. Another toon deals, appropriately, with greasy combs". Chuck Eddy - Village Voice

"Raucous rock ' n roll, Phantom Highway 13, the first EP from Triple Hex, a trio from NYC, with a girl on the drums. Taken out on their own quality label and put in the box by Matt Verta-Ray (Speedball Baby, Heavy Trash), these six minimalist titles between greasy rockabilly and mutant R&B have traces of the Cramps, Gories, Demolition Doll Rods, Rev. Horton Heat, S.C.O.T.S and consorts. Tribal percussion, intense vocals and sleazy solos. Delightful."
