Formed in 1995 from Los Angeles County, CA in the city of Huntington Park (hometown to classic bands like Slayer & Terrorizer). NEMA, taken from the biblical word "amen" spelled backwards grows to represent a new form of protest against the corruptions of dogma & government. Founding member ex-Jehovah Witness Kannonos (vocals/lead guitar) with Rick Jovel(drums) along with Uziel(bass) and Erick Chapels (backing vocals/lead guitar) released their debut self titled CD demo on may 2000. Containing 4 original tracks "Annihilation of the Icon", "Blood", "Disturbing Views" & "Living Inverted" the demo along with their unique live performances gave NEMA status and recognition in their L.A. metal scene.In the year 2004, NEMA produced their first official full length album "Dawn Awakenings" under their own independent label Funeral Notice Records with two new members replacing in the line up: JC (rhythm guitar/backing vocals) and Belial(bass). The impact & reaction was much recognized due to the musical progression accompanied by much powerful improved vocals and controversial anti-lyrical content which aligned NEMA in a string of live performances in southern California, Nevada & Mexico, Baja California. Their album never obtained commercial distribution yet remained a seller in all their live venues.NEMA is presently going through a new line up change.
