About Me

Since moving to Nashville a year ago, from Austin, Texas, Brian Bandas has already begun making huge waves. In addition to playing guitar professionally for a number of major-label artists, as well as filling studio time as a guitarist on many major and independent albums, Brian has honed his artistry to become truly multi-faceted.
As a guitarist, Brian stands out not only for his young age, but his innovation and unique style. As an artist, he is captivating. His voice will stop you in your tracks. His songs will only cause you to crave more. His performance on stage draws you in, in a way that few performers can. Trumping all of this, though, is his passion and sincerity. People connect with what is real, what is genuine, and that is what draws people in when Brian performs. Every word that flows forth so seemingly effortlessly, drips with heartfelt passion. It is refreshing to see someone singing and performing simply because they love the music they are making.
Armed with accomplished guitar and piano playing, an impeccable ear for melody, lyrical honesty, and a captivating presence on stage, Brian Bandas is an artist you will not want to miss. He is poised to leave an unmistakable mark on music.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Brian Bandas (vocals, guitar, piano, bass, writing, producing), Chris Kimmerer (drums... a true baller.)
Influences: You know... i know you aren't going to read all of this, but i do like trying to think of as many great musicians and artists who have influenced me as i can, so... i guess it's really for my own pleasure... FIRST: my favorite band, OFFICIALLY, is Keane (at least for now)... they are UNBELIEVABLE and they are MASTERS OF MELODY... other than them... It really began with Michael W. Smith in middle school. Then it really hit me when I heard the Goo Goo Dolls. Black Balloon made me start writing songs. From there, my taste as well as my artistry has evolved so much. Staind, Incubus, Disturbed, Good Charlotte, 3 Doors Down, Our Lady Peace, a big one is Jimmy Eat World, Blink 182, Yellowcard, Flyleaf (formerly Passerby) great new album guys! RATM, Greatness in Tragedy, John Mayer has had a profound effect on my guitar playing... of course, he largely emulates Jimi... Alanis Morisette, Dave Matthews Band, Hanson (no matter what any one says, they are excellent songwriters), Saves the Day, Sensefield, New Radicals, Vertical Horizon, Genesis, The Beatles, Toto, Chicago, Audio Adrenaline, Switchfoot, Dashboard Confessional, Frou Frou, I LOVE Keane, Aqualung, Mew, Athlete, The Daylights, Travis, Coldplay, U2, Oasis, Polyphonic Spree, Radiohead, Engineers, Muse, Pink Floyd, Kent, Oversol, The Shins, Maroon 5 is incredible! Mae, The Music, The Perishers, Modest Mouse, British Sea Power, Red Umbrella is wonderful! The Flaming Lips, The Postal Service, Badly Drawn Boy, Chris Thile, Nickel Creek, Counting Crows, David Gray, David Mead, Derek Webb, Michael Logen, Dave Barnes is superb, Matt Pond PA, Over the Rhine, Matt Wertz, Andy Davis, Tom Baxter, Gavin Degraw, John Legend, Jack Johnson, Katie Bandas, Alicia Keys, Missy Higgins, Waitin On Eddy, The Killers, The Smashing Pumpkins, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones, The Darkness, The New Radicals, Clarkesville, Jon Brion, Alex Heffes, Simon & Garfunkel, Steely Dan, Steve Miller Band, Phil Collins, Genesis, Elton John, Five For Fighting, Damien Rice, James Taylor, Jack Johnson, John Denver, Johnny Cash, Elton John, Jamie Cullum, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix is probably my favorite guitarist, and The Experience pretty much just knew how to ROCK! Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, B.B. King, Johnny Lang, Parliament, Tower of Power, THE WOOTENS WEDNESDAY NIGHTS AT 3RD AND LINDSLEY!!!! Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Stevie freakin Wonder, for sure! lots of good jazz such as Miles Davis, Ron Barber (my grandfather, SOOO freaking good it's pretty sick), John Coltrane, Oscar Peterson, Herbie Hancock, the Three Sounds, even Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole, Diana Krall, Thelonious Monk, lots of other random good music such as the Riverdance soundtrack and celtic music, the String Quartet, Sigur Ros, I even enjoy Tim McGraw most of the time, and Brad Paisley, and Keith Urban can play the freakin guitar! Also, Steve Lillywhite, Dennis Herring, Victor Oquendo, Eric Gunderson, Jeff Coplan, and many producers who I don't know by name. The list truly goes on and on. Frankly, I can't think of many at the moment, but the bottom line is... I LOVE MUSIC!!!
Sounds Like: Pop-rock melodies with blues, funk and soul influences.
