About Me

I'm that girl sitting in a cafe writing down what you're doing and what you're talking about when you think no one's listening to you yap on your cell phone. My musings on our collective pursuit of happiness can be found at www.losangelista.com. I'm also working on my first, hopefully not last, novel.I'm lived in Chicago, New York, Houston and my current home, Los Angeles. I've seen a lot and experienced a lot, but it's never enough. I can see the Hollywood Sign from my backyard, proof that it's not smoggy here all the time.I once lived in Guangzhou, China. The seven bike accidents I had there made me feel lucky. I also taught in Compton for three years -- I never saw any members of NWA while I worked there. And believe me, teaching kids was the best job I ever had.The smartest woman I ever knew only went to school till about the 6th grade. She was my grandmother. And in case you want to buy me a snack, I'm a vegetarian and I'm officially detoxed from that fifth horseman of the apocalypse, Starbucks. I quit drinking coffee cold-turkey on January 23, 2006.
