Check out my music online at www.LeslieBerry.com, www.MySpace.com/LeslieBerry, www.SonicBids.com/LeslieBerry, www.CDBaby.com, www.Indiegate.com, and also check out www.CandlewyckMusic.com (newgrass band I play keyboards in). Music I love... Sarah McLachlan (hands down my favorite), Joni Mitchell, Seal, Poe, Shawn Colvin, Tori Amos, Journey, Natalie Merchant, Heart, Duncan Sheik, Styx, Travis, Coldplay, Imogen Heap... also some electronica, progressive rock, folk, latin jazz, classical, singer-songwriters.... and lately since I'm playing keyboards in a newgrass band I've been listening to some Allison Krauss, Nickel Creek.I always like to expand my musical horizons... why limit yourself?
Chocolat, Sirens, Dangerous Beauty, Dead Poets Society, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, My Cousin Vinny... Million Dollar Baby was great! I like movies that are empowering and movies that make you think. V For Vendetta I absolutely loved.
24, CSI, Bones, Monk... I don't watch much TV but prefer action/mystery/suspense. I loved the Poirot series...Columbo I loved too.
I'd recommend anything by Ayn Rand. I read lots of non-fiction...books on psychology, music, songwriting, history, biographies, sexuality, medicine, you name it. When it comes to fiction I like mystery writers like Patricia Cornwell and Ruth Rendell. Getting me to read fiction is hard, though... unless I'm listening to audio books while driving. The DaVinci Code was a page-turner though.
When I was 7 years old I wanted to be Annie Oakley (I had a little cowgirl outfit complete with boots, gun holster and cowboy hat). At age 8 or 9, definitely Pat Benatar (I always requested "Heartbreaker" at the skating rink). After that it was Olivia Newton-John....loved Grease and could sing all of her songs by heart. Then, Ann Wilson of Heart... I spent many hours with my hairbrush singing along to Heart songs in front of the mirror in college. At 21 I wanted to be Catherine Deneuve (lots of black clothes, red lipstick, etc, the whole femme fatale/goth thing). When I was 27 I wanted to be Lieutenant Columbo (I even found an old London Fog trenchcoat at the Salvation Army and wore it. I joined a mystery book club.)
