In fact, his who-gives-a-shit attitude is one of the most refreshing aspects of his music. Don't be mistaken, he has the credentials to tell the music snobs to fuck off. From the tender age of seven, music has been at the center of his life. He studied classical guitar at the Suzuki School of Music for six years culminating with his first professional performance at Chicago's Orchestra Hall, the home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. At 13 he took a turn towards rock and jazz. Some might say he started hanging with the wrong crowd. Others might say he took the natural path for someone with his talent. Burton would tell you he simply followed the music. Fast forward to 2004. Omega Point Records, a Chicago based indy label drops Burton's debut album Spy Life to critical acclaim. Despite releasing an album that is by all accounts a unique and deeply textured body of work, Burton scrapes by living the life of a starving artist. During this time he lived in the infamous Illmeasures loft where he began the project Revolutionary Music is now releasing. Revolutionary Music discovered Burton L. at an Illmeasures loft party. He was rocking a downtempo set on two Powerbooks and a mixer. We watched as he turned the room upside down with a sick hybrid style of music we couldn't quite put a finger on. When posed the question 'Who made this track,' Burton replied, 'they are all mine.' It was at that moment we knew we had to sign him. So we did, and now we bring him to you. Get ready, 'cause he don't give a fuck and neither do we. It is time to make Mr. L. the rock star he has always been.
