About Me

THIS IS JUST A MY SPACE SITE TO COME AND ENJOY HIS MUSIC, PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU SEND ME EMAILS!!! This is a tribute site for Joshua Kadison! Joshua is not running it!!!!!!!! So please understand this is just a site so you can listen to his great music and see who else loves it too!!!!! So you can come listen and talk about his great music....................................................... ............................................................ ............................................................ .....................................Joshua grew up in Los Angeles, the younger of two sons. His mother was of Mexican-American Indian descent. At age 12 he started playing the piano and subsequently started to write songs. After his mother died, when he was 15, he received his drivers licence and left home (with the blessing of his father) to become a travelling troubadour. He later admitted that anger and confusion over his mother's death drove much of his songwriting during this time. He later wrote "Mama's Arms" about his pain over losing his mother as a teenager; it was featured on his first album "Painted Desert Serenade". He did the rounds of piano bars across the United States for the next decade. Eventually in the early 1990s he caught the attention of EMI and they signed him.-------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ -And this is from the man himself: @ http://www.joshuakadison.comAnd here are some answers to questions that many of you email me about. For those of you searching for my Capitol/EMI discs, Painted Desert Serenade is available on Capitol/EMI Records in the States. In Germany, Painted Desert Serenade, Delilah Blue, and Joshua Kadison The Premium Gold Collection are all available on Capitol/EMI. I'm told Amazon.com is an easy place to go for them, and it's a good place to find my out-of-print discs, too. As for my novella "17 Ways To Eat A Mango," I think it's still available in a French translation from Ambre. I know it's no longer available in English from Hyperion. As for the German, Spanish, Italian and Chinese (my personal favorite! Really, I have two copies and they look so cool! Heh hehe... and I'm not sellin' 'em) translations... I'm pretty sure those are out-of-print, too. Again, I'm told, Amazon is a good place to look for the original english version and these translations. For those of you looking for sheet music to my songs, Beautiful In My Eyes is available on various wedding song collections from Hal Leonard Publishing. And there is a folio with piano transcriptions and guitar tabs for all of the songs on Painted Desert Serenade also published by Hal Leonard Music. I corrected the piano transcriptions for those versions myself, so I can tell you that they have my approval. No other songs of mine have been published in sheet music form. In the future if that changes I'll post it on this site. Hope this info helps answer the more popular questions. And, hope you enjoy the music. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------------------------------- Please go to his web site and tell him how much you love his music....
