Things You Fear The loss of civil rights and democracy to Corporate America and the GOP

I'm about the most complicated simple person you'll probably ever meet. What the hell does that mean? Well, I guess it can mean anything you freakin' want it to mean.

I like things simple as in not evaluating everything on a scale that requires a person to rate it against what society deems good or bad. But while I guess to me that sounds simple, to others it might sound deep or heavy. Whatever.

I keep my eyes open and don't walk around swallowing the swill that's dumped on us everyday.

I enjoy music, movies, and the out of the ordinary. My early years included growing up on the likes of whatever was playing on the radio in Hannibal, Missouri and was available in the jukebox at Pizza Hut. Yeah, I liked songs like, "Rubberband Man," "Pop Muzik," "Saturday Night," "Car Wash," and "Thank God It's Friday."

Later my taste moved to AC/DC and, believe it or not, Huey Lewis and the News. The likes of Quiet Riot, Twisted Sister, and Ratt won out and I fell into the fist in the air crowd dubbed as Metalheads. The rest is history.

I still enjoy my heavy metal, but enjoy the blues, fusion jazz, and other music.

Also ... don't fear anything, but always be aware of who and what is trying to contain you, manipulate you, and distort reality. Anyone, or anything, that uses religion as a TOOL to meet a political end must be kept in check. It can come in many forms, but it usually comes in the form of a screaming nutjob like Pat Robertson and the like ilk of the world. They undermine religion and destroy faith. When Neocons use religion to induce fear and increase votes it should be recognized. They should all be branded with this mark:

The Mark of the Christian Reich

And here's some audio for fellow freethinkers out there:

... BEWARE, while some of the hosts on the station are liberal, others are conservative, they've opted to only open their minds half-way, but I'm always up for listening to a different viewpoint.

My Interests

Movies, Music, Computers, the 'Net, talk radio, politics, comedy, meeting people in Davenport and the Quad Cities. Learning to laugh at myself.

I'd like to meet:

I don't really think about who I would like to meet. I figure most are just like anyone. I would steer away from the giddy handshake and asking for an autograph.

But if I could actually meet someone and have a conversation I think I would like to meet some of the people that share my mindset when it comes to politics and changing this country to something that benefits everyone, instead of the fascist course this country continues to take.

If you don't know what fascism is, then don't freak on me using the word.

Fascism is corporatism. Rule by corporations. That is what's happening in this country and if you don't see it you have your head up your butt.

In case you want names ... here ya go. Thom Hartmann, Randi Rhodes, Ed Schultz, Noam Chomsky, and Henry Rollins.

Music:

Metal, classic rock, fusion jazz, and the blues.

Movies:

Highlander, the Matrix movies, Star Wars, and many, many, many others. I'm a big fan of documentaries as well.

Television:

Favorite Shows: Free Speech TV, Penn and Teller's Bullshit!, The Henry Rollins Show, South Park, One Punk Under God, Last Comic Standing, Mythbusters, 30 Days, Nova, Now, Frontline, Bill Moyers on America, Democracy Now!, Weeds, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, Late Show with David Letterman, Brothers and Sisters, Boston Legal, Bill Moyers Journal, Avatar - The Last Airbender, Ultimate Film Fanatic, Project Green Light, Spirit Awards, IFC Grind House, Real Time with Bill Maher, Iron Chef America, Good Eats w/ Alton Brown, MTV2's Headbanger's Ball, VH1's rockDocs, and VH1 Classic's Metal Mania.

Books:

Can't think of any right now.

Heroes:

John F. Kennedy & Al Gore

"But, if by a 'Liberal' they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a 'Liberal,' then I'm proud to say I'm a 'Liberal.'"
- President John F. Kennedy

... Why Al Gore? Because he's working his ass off to bring the reality of Global Warming to the forefront of conversations. Hopefully you've already seen his movie " An Inconvenient Truth " at the theater, or you'll catch it now that it's on DVD . No he can't save the world, but if we get our heads out of our asses, and with a lot of hard work, maybe we can all save the world.
