C.B. Hudson

My name is C.B. Hudson III. I have been playing the guitar now for about 22 years. I took lessons for about 5 years from a great teacher named Harriett Flachmeyer in Dallas, TX. I went on to play lead guitar in Jazz Band at Lake Highlands Highschool. In 1992, I attended Berkley College of Music for a summer session. It was pretty much like music camp. It was a great experience that I recommend for any musician. Upon graduation from highschool in 1993, I moved to San Marcos, TX to attend Southwest Texas State University, which is now Texas State University. I studied music for one semester and decided that learning how the guitar was played in the "Baroque Period" was not very important to me. I continued to play guitar everyday after classes. I tried getting together with a lot of different people to form a band, but the chemistry was never right. After graduating from college, I returned home for one semester and realized that I was not ready to get a real job. I returned to Southwest Texas State University to study for my Masters of Business Administration. Finally, in early 2000, I started recording my own material. After about 4 months, I had completed roughly 10 songs. In late 2000, I met Justin Furstenfeld at the Kismet Cafe in San Marcos, TX. I presented those 10 songs to him and was given a chance to audition for "Blue October". I have now been with the band for 6 years. I continue to write my own music, but focus all of my energy on "Blue October".This record is more of a demo than anything else. It was recorded on a Roland 1680 digital recorder at my house.
