I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am what I love, not what loves me.

My Interests

Music, Music, Music, Music, Music, Cinema, Literature, Design (50s and 60s mostly), Grammar, Travels (big cities), being alone very far away from home, smoking and drinking and dancing and cooking and eating.

I'd like to meet:

*people who know how to be useless, but with style. people who smash marvellous insects on consenting teenager faces. people who drink white alcohol in weird places...* people who know who I'm quoting here.

Music:

Wow it could take me hours I guess... Ok, I grew up on punk rock (Buzzcocks, early Cure, the Jam, the Clash, Metal Urbain, Stinky Toys, Richard Hell and the Voidoids....) and started being obsessed by the 60s aged 13. So I got into classical 60s bands (Velvet Underground, The Who, Beatles, The Doors) and garage ones. In 1992, I figured out some contemporary music was to be checked out too. And the Pixies changed my life, I must admit....But I had this dilemma and couldn't choose between Grunge, Brit-pop and Shoegazing. I also spent some time listening to Noise and Punk/Hardcore, and Jazz and Soul took a few years of my life too. Now let's say I like many genres but am very very picky in each one. So..... here's a random list: Stereolab, Air, Bonnie Prince Billy, Nick Drake, Syd Barrett, Nico, Love, Leonard Cohen, Daniel Johnston, Catpower, PJ Harvey, Sebastien Tellier, Beck, The Make Up, Art Brut, Sufjan Stevens, Jim O'Rourke, Akron/Family, Cyann and Ben, Kimya Dawson, Jeffrey Lewis, Herman Düne, Françoise Breut, Philippe Katerine, Serge Gainsbourg, Fiery Furnaces, Mùm, Explosions in The Sky, Joanna Newsom, Beck, Yo la tengo, International Airport, Lalipuna, Low, Moldy Peaches, Sebastien Schuller, Animal Collective, Panda Bear, The Notwist, Boards of Canada, A Silver Mount Zion, God Speed You Black Emperor, Hood, Below The Sea, Kevin Shields, MBV, Spacemen 3, Ms.John Soda, Slowdive, Ride, Spiritualized, Komeit, Montag, Mice Parade, Piano Magic, Electrelane, Mils, Domotic, Davide Ballula, O-lamm, Fog, Subtle, Why?, Transmissionary Six, Hymie's basement, Epic 45, Smog, Tunng, Bark Psychosis, Jaga Jazzist, T, Lateduster, ClouDdead, The Books, Battles, Mountains, Movietone, Pram, Fly Pan Am, Psapp, Grizzly Bear, Masha Qrella, Architecture in Helsinki, and add thousands to that.

Movies:

All the French Nouvelle Vague, Lost in Translation, Virgin Suicides, Adaptation, Eternal Sunshine, Buffalo 66, Delicatessen, Fargo, Reservoir Dogs, Gummo, Being John Malkovitch, Elephant, Gerry, Traffic, 21 grams, Rois et Reine, Noi Albinoi, Tarnation, Punch-drunk love, ... oh la la that would be too long..

Books:

Boris Vian, Jean-Paul Sartre, Paul Auster, Raymond Carver, Will Self, Nabokov, Bukowski, Michel Houellebecq, Guy de Maupassant, Raymond Radiguet, James Crumley, Tonino Benacquista, Françoise Sagan, Haruki Murakami, Roland Barthes, Guillaume Apollinaire, Paul De Roux, Jim Harrison, Katherine Mansfield, Virginia Woolf, James Joyce, Olivier Adam....too long a list, too lazy a girl...

The aesthetic of madness.

I've decided this sunny and mild fall marks my rebirth. Sadness can be aesthetic, oui. Madness can be pathetic, oui. How about getting back to the opposite ?    ...

Indeed.

Today I listened to "River Traffic" by Epic 45 at least 12 times in a row. Yes, that's how monomaniac I can be. I also watched "Elephant" for the 6th time. Yes, that's how monomaniac I can be. Anyon...

espérance de vie

I haven't had a single glass of alcohol in a week. Not that I'm proud, but actually relieved. I've drunk so much lately I thought I was getting out of control. So, I'm packing for my new place. ...

nuage noir.

I got drunk on black clouds last saturday. I swear it's true. When I woke up in the park it was 9 am, and I was cold. The walk back home took forever. And I was so tired I didn't even think of killing...

Tomorrow is the day

Tomorrow at 9 am, I'm gonna try to be the coldest yet hottest lady in the world. Only for a couple of hours. And yes, I said "lady", not "girl". And of course all I can do is try. After that I can be ...
