I am here for Dating, Serious Relationships, Friends and Networking

About Me

Talking about myself makes me feel like I am on a dating website, and I have done enough of that recently. I've been around - was born in St.Petersburg, Russia (although it was Leningrad during my times), Santa Rosa, San Francisco, Houston, Haarlem (yeah, two "a", it is the original one, in Holland), Amsterdam, and now New York. I thought Amsterdam was the greatest city in the world but New York kicks ass. Even though I only know a few people here, I think I found my spot in the world. EAST VILLAGE ROOOOOOCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Mainly I am just looking to re-connect with old friends, so please do not contact me just to ballon your network, I am not very likely to add you (unless I really think we have a lot in common)

Music:

Sadly, I seem to luck a well-defined musical preference, I am one of those - "a little bit of everything" person. Pixies, Broodway Muscials, Interpol, DJ Tiesto, Nick Cave, Beatles, Rammstein, Death Cub for Cutie, Deep Dish, Franz Ferdinand, Madness, Matisyahu, Faithless and so on.

Movies:

Random ones that come to mind - "midnight in the garden of good and evil" (although book was even better), "playing by heart", "Talk to her" (actually, everything by Almodovar), "Closer" more to be added

Television:

"law and order", "arrested development", etc

Books:

I read "the year of magical thinking" by Joan Didion two weeks ago - could not put it down, had to cancel all the weekend plans. Love everything by Amistad Maupin. Admittedly an easy read yet extremely addictive. Was anybody else as troubled as me by the recent revelations of J.T.Leroy's non-existanse. I loved "sarah" and fee very cheated. Speaking of cheated, I did not finish "A million little pieces" ever before he was accused of lying. I just did not beleive him... I think I am going to read "On beauty" by Zadie Smith next. Loved "White Teeth". Too bad I bought it in hardcover though.
