HotFreeLayoutsI'm a metalhead first and foremost. This brought me to Wacken festival this year to be in the awesome presence of greats such as Emperor, Morbid Angel, Nevermore, Opeth, Atheist....etc. There are so many bands that I have to see, the main one of which is Nile. I absolutely adore Nile, Egyptian black metal. You have to read the lyrics. They have fully researched Egyptian mythology and their songs are all about ancient Egypt. Unas Slayer of the Gods, for example.

I dabble in music myself, I played violin and got my Grade 5. I now play the guitar, his name is George and he's a Jackson sharkfin V. He's very sexy and very much a girls guitar (you hear that Kirk Hammet?).I still enjoy some punk, though I value it alot less now that I have moved to the metal scene. Still, going for a good skank tonight.At the moment I am beginning to get into some D&B. I'm going to see Pendulum tomorrow night at my student union which will be a fucking wicked gig. I'm going with a new mate from uni who is completely into his D&B.
I notice natural progression into D&B from metal. Probably because of a damned good beat. It just seems to fit. I know many metallers who have gone on to D&B or hip-hop. I love Ulver, early stuff is black metal, later stuff is trip-hop. Fucking cool.I am currently at university in Aberystwyth. I have a feeling my winter is gonna be cold and wet. But I am by the sea and I can't complain about that. I love the sea, it's so powerful and dangerous and yet so beautiful. I love being in Cornwall during the winter and watching the sea boil ferociously. I love the rugged nature of Cornwall. Maybe that's what attracted me to Wales. Watching the storms here from the seafront will be amazing. We had a phat storm on the night of my birthday. I was looking out of the window, and the sky just went purple and flickered for a couple of seconds before the darkness re-ascended.

Driving through Wales from the south to Aber which is on the west coast is cool. You see the country become progressively wilder and bigger. I love big skies, especially on a clear night. I love watching the stars. Space fucking scares me though. The thought of an infinite nothingness with patches of burning gas is odd. Especially as infinity is always getting bigger as the universe supposedly expands. Crazy scientists. And all this chat about global warming...(here's my two cents) yes the globe is warming up. But its not anything that hasn't happened before. The Earth's temperature fluctuates over the millenia anyway. Add this to the fact that we are still coming out of the tail end of an ice age, its gonna be getting hotter anyway. Having said this, we are contributing a hell of a lot to the situation. I totally agree with phasing fossil fuels out. I'm all for Hydrogen cars, the only waste product is water. Genius Icelanders. Sigur Ros, another band that everyone should listen to, and if you don't you should at least read their lyrics, they are splendid.
