About Me

Here's a bit about me. I really don't have a favorite type of music, though my friends would say that all I listen to are 80s songs and oldies. If I'm not working, I'm watching movies or sports, though I do like to go out for a good meal with friends or family. I work quite a bit during the week, now because I'm managing my one-man independent consulting company (since 2004; Nexus Business Consulting ). So I look forward to the weekends, being able to relax and do the things that I like to do.

For fun, like I wrote before, if I'm not watching movies, I try to grab meals with my family / friends. I also bought my own house. So of course that takes a bit of my time, but it's something that I really enjoy doing.

I'm also a sports fan, football primarily. Got the Dolphins season tickets, and with how The Team did in 2005 (9-7), I have a lot of hope that I might actually see the Dolphins win an NFL title in my lifetime. But I will watch the other sports as the playoffs for those sports come around. I also have half-season tickets for the Miami Heat, and now I've renewed them through the 2009-2010 season. And if someone has tickets to go the Florida Marlins or Florida Panthers or any University of Miami game, I might be convinced to go...

I love to travel whenever I get the chance. Been all over this country, and look forward to doing more travel abroad, maybe even a repeat to France, Argentina, and Spain. I would also love to head over to China at some point. I have also been planning a Nordic trip, passing through Iceland for the Midnight Sun festival, which is supposed to be like a northern Mardi Gras, on my way to the Scandinavian region.

As far as Miami, there are so many places to go. For restaurants, it's got to be Prime 112 and Joe's Stone Crab. But there are also Porcao, Chocolate, Graziano's; hmmm, I'm seeing a slight trend here...

Some other information. I don't get to watch too much TV (thankfully), but when I do it's to watch news and sports (and maybe not in that order). Getting started on some different kinds of hobbies. Have already done my first indoor sky-dive. This may lead to an actual outdoor sky-dive. Also looking to take ocean kayaking and scuba classes some time soon.

Hope this gives some insight.

Was in the movie theatre industry for 13 years, so I got exposed to way too many movies, both good and bad. Here are some favorites:

Television:

If it's not the news or sports, I try to avoid watching TV. Unfortunately, I'm starting to get addicted to those damn home improvement shows as well as the crime shows on Court TV, specifically Forensic Files.

Books:

Favorite books would have to be "Dune" and "The Count of Monte Cristo". I just finished "The Goal: The Theory of Constraints" as well as all six Harry Potter books. Now I'm working on a few books at the same time: "Caracol Beach", "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea", "Alice in Wonderland" and an accounting book (doing self-study).
