Empty threats are the backbone of lil' tyrants...

About Me

I tend to offer more with a little whiskey, but in the spirit of the site I will boast of being a daddy, a cowboy and longhorn fanatic, an eager traveler, a mental spelunkerer, a jilted lover, a fearless conversationalist, an advesary of the conspiracy, a 4:20 activist, and have a propensity for spontanuity that curls the toes of onlookers A SERMON ON ETHICS AND LOVE One day Mal-2 asked the messenger spirit Saint Gulik to approach the Goddess and request Her presence for some desperate advice. Shortly afterwards the radio came on by itself, and an ethereal female Voice said YES? "O! Eris! Blessed Mother of Man! Queen of Chaos! Daughter of Discord! Concubine of Confusion! O! Exquisite Lady, I beseech You to lift a heavy burden from my heart!"WHAT BOTHERS YOU, MAL? YOU DON'T SOUND WELL."I am filled with fear and tormented with terrible visions of pain. Everywhere people are hurting one another, the planet is rampant with injustices, whole societies plunder groups of their own people, mothers imprison sons, children perish while brothers war. O, woe."WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH THAT, IF IT IS WHAT YOU WANT TO DO?"But nobody Wants it! Everybody hates it."OH. WELL, THEN STOP.At which moment She turned herself into an aspirin commercial and left The Polyfather stranded alone with his species.

My Interests

Daddy (though I am not up for any Father of the Year awards (as my EX is always more than willing to tell me...), my children are always near my thoughts and any interests I might have are inevitably effected)........ Art (though I have studied in some amazing places and with some amazing people, I tend to keep my misery bottled up these days as opposed to projecting them in any external artistic expression)

Music:

I feel musical genres were invented by those who sell music for those who don't get it. There is only one type of music I enjoy, and that is quality music made by quality musicians. However, for those who find this statement too broad (ironic, considering just how rare quality music and musicians are...) here is a list: Bad Religion, the Beatles, BLIND MELON, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, De La Soul, ELVIS, the Flaming Lips, GALACTIC, Groove Collective, Howlin' Wolf, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Cash, Jurassic 5, Lamb, Louis Armstrong, Medeski, Martin, & Wood, N.E.R.D., THE ORB, Pennywise, PINK FLOYD, Raphael Saadiq, String Cheese Incident, Tool, the Velvet Underground, WEEN, and Willie Nelson. This list is by no means exclusive, but perhaps will provide an idea.

Movies:

In an effort to avoid length and redundancy, I will provide a list of favorite directors: the Cohen Bros., Francis Ford Coppola, Peter Jackson, Stanley Kubrick, Richard Linklater, George Lucas, David Lynch, Rob Reiner, Martin Scorsese, Kevin Smith, Steven Speilberg, Oliver Stone, and Quentiin Tarantino. This list is by no means exclusive, but perhaps it will provide an idea.

Television:

I have a hard time getting into television due to the lack of curses and nudity. I do enjoy Adult Swim (oh, that Peter...). I also really like Rome, Entourage, and the Sopranos on HBO...

Books:

Again in an effort to save time and space, I offer a list of some of my favorite authors: Douglas Adams, Isaac Asimov, William S. Burrows, Aleister Crowley, Phillip K. Dick, Umberto Eco, Aldous Huxley, Milan Kundera, Chuck Palahniuk, Ayn Rand, Anne Rice (guilty pleasure...) Tom Robbins, Kurt Vonnegut, and Robert Anton Wilson. This list is by no means exclusive, but for those on the know should provide some insight into exactly who they're dealing with...

What's in a Word

I believe it was Shakespeare who said, "A rose is a rose, but by any other name..."  The brilliance of the famous bard is evident in this insightful and provocative statement.  What is ...

Conspiracy Nuts

To many, when they hear the word conspiracy, they snicker and roll their eyes.  They believe that anyone willing to discuss such seemingly elusive ideas must be either naive or off their roc...

Strength in Unity?

So I was pondering the popular rant of united we stand, and divided we fall, and found myself questioning the truth and effectiveness of this statement. Here is my point.  With a united effo...

Dissent is Patriotic

So after observing the comments that have become routine on myspace, I thought I would address the seemingly anti-american content.  To anyone out there wondering, you would asssuredly have a dif...
