David Blair and Adam Pitman began Badfritter Films in the summer of 2004 with the conception of their short film, “The Love Poem.†Filmed on a mini DV camera and a budget of twenty dollars, the short was Blair and Pitman’s first attempt at a serious film; all previous projects had been comical and experimental. “The Love Poem†premiered to a limited audience but garnered many favorable reviews. Adam Stilwell, a long time friend, saw the short and wanted to be part of this talented team. Blair’s idea for a new film and Pitman’s ambition to make a full length feature was enough to bring Stilwell from Connecticut to Hollywood, where the three conceived the story for “Roulette.â€
The trio began filming in November of 2004, choosing to create an almost entirely improvised horror feature. After overcoming many obstacles and working within the limitations of a five hundred dollar budget, the film was completed in just under a year and entered into the independent film circuit.
Today, the award winning film, “Roulette,†has a strong cult following and has attracted the attention of investors who are funding Badfritter Films’ next project, ‘Paper Dolls.†This psychological thriller is slated to begin filming in May of ’06. With a solid production team, Pitman, Stilwell, and Blair are moving forward in the film industry, confident up-and-comers to watch for in the future.
