(Or the link below) Here's that history I was talking about...A singer/songwriter, with a knack for melodies that you can’t get out of your head, Chad Oliver's musical career began over ten years ago with a simple passion for live music. He and his friends frequented the club scene in Toronto where many of the city's best would perform. Seeing the likes of Ron Sexsmith & Colin Linden inspired Chad to pick up a guitar and begin to write and perform his own songs. It wasn't long before many were in awe of his natural talent and he was performing in those very same clubs. Chad has been performing and writing for over 10 years, honing his craft playing solo and group gigs across Canada, in the process becoming a consummate performer, completely “at home” on the stage. Based out of Vancouver Chad has enjoyed independent success with several releases with many of his songs having received regular radio play across the country, and national recognition in the form of standard broadcasting awards.Chad's latest project teamed him with longtime friend Timothy B Hewitt. A Vancouver live music scene staple and coveted session musician, Tim's melodic playing was a great match with Chad's new brand of stylized pop, and helped take the songs to new places. "We wanted to create a space for Chad's voice to really shine.” says Timothy when speaking of the writing process. "Just sitting down with two acoustic guitars and playing in the same room, if the song had legs there, we knew it was what we wanted." Composing more than thirty songs over a period of two months, the pair had found the magic they were looking for. Twelve were then selected and the process of self-producing an album began. The results are catchy, melodic songs that are infectious and timeless. The pair's modern production adds loops and textures, from Edge-like guitars to sparse Rhodes hooks. A rare find in any artistic situation, Oliver is a true ‘meeting of the minds’; two seasoned songwriters sharing a passion for songs of style and substance. Bringing a sound that has been described as both modern and classic, the songs are hook laden and singable while at the same time showing a production that is modern and up beat.Like any artist, as his success grew, so did his style, morphing into a more mature and melodic songwriter, as well as becoming a more confident and charismatic performer. With an incredibly versatile voice, Chad decided to branch out and let his musical range shine. In late 2006 Chad was approached by entertainment industry giant Cirque Du Soleil and was cast as the male lead singer in their touring arena show "DELIRIUM". Partnered with Live Nation, DELIRIUM is a multifaceted event of unprecedented proportion featuring Cirque du Soleil music remixed, and has played to over 1.5 million people across North America.
