The Man Who Sold the Moon

So here's us, out on the raggedy edge...

About Me

So, I was looking through my book and movie preferences, and it occurred to me that I really, really like trilogies & series. And I started, in my inimical fashion, to wonder why that is.
I like the big stories; the ones that take more than just one shot to tell. I believe that as a people, humankind has a destiny to learn & fulfill, and that to fulfill that destiny means to tell the biggest story of all. I wasn't here for the beginning of the story, and I doubt I'll be here for the end. I want my part in the story to have meaning, even if only for myself, but I feel it's more important that each of us recognizes that we have a role to play in the story. We each have a duty to contribute, in some small or great way, to the grand destiny of our people. We owe it to our ancestors not to waste their contribution, and we owe our descendants a greater life than ours. In short, we are part of something greater than ourselves, yet paradoxically, that something is ourselves.
I don't know if that's "About Me," but I think it's certainly "About US."
