About Me

I guess you would call me a musician. It's what I really ejoy doing. I teach private percussion/drumset lessons, percussion ensemble, and marching drum line at Barrington High School, Barrington Middle Schools, Libertyville High School, and Great Lake Music in Mundelein. I play in a few different groups. I describe them all below. They all have a myspace. Check them out if you feel so inclined. I would consider myself a shy person. I enjoy hanging out with my friends, going to shows, watching movies, and going to The Exit on Sunday nights for their Denim and Leather Metal Night. Other than that, I don't really go to bars much. That's all I can think of to write right now.
These are bands/groups I play/collaborate with (in alphabetical order, mind you.):
****Blood Of The Tyrant-Mastodon, Converge, High On Fire type stuff
****Galaxy String Quartet-rotating member. Free improv jazz/folk/hip-hop/classical/rock stuff.
****New Quartet-jazz/folk/classical/rock. Drums and percussion. Composed arrangements with improvisational sections.
****Now's Disciples-Live hip-hop. Two rappers.
****Soul Power Trio-Improv. jazz/metal/hip-hop/rock. Both electric (guitar, bass, drums) and acoustic (upright bass, saxophones, drums).
****Under The Sun-Black Sabbath/mid-tempo Slayer forms of heaviness.
Here's a clip of me playing with Blood Of The Tyrant:

My Interests

Music, performing, sarcastic humor, drums/percussion, local/national/international bands, collecting records.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who likes the same stuff I do, people that want to book my bands, all of the old friends I lost contact with. This is a clip of High On Fire playing "Eyes and Teeth" at the Wicker Park Fest in Chicago. Around 0:45 you can just barely see me headbanging at the front of the stage. Neato!!

Tell me why I had to be a Powerslave.

I went and saw King Tut today at the Field Museum.  Before leaving I listened to "Powerslave" by Iron Maiden and Nile.  They really got me in the mood for Egypt.
