Deus Absconditus

About Me

Main Entry: De·us ab·scon·di·tus Pronunciation: ..ˌdā-u̇s-ˌäp-ˈskȯn-di-ˌtu̇s.. Function: foreign term Etymology: Latin: hidden God : God unknowable by the human mind Deus Absconditus is a Chicago band founded by guitarist Derek Dziak and vocalist Jason Kolkey They set out to play a brand of metal unrestricted by any particular sub-genre or the bounds of good taste. Major influences included such performers as Mr. Bungle, Morbid Angel, Frank Zappa, Emperor, Slayer, Oingo Boingo, and Justin Timberlake. They were joined upon their path of destruction by shredmeister Pat Conahan, bass-slinger Joe Donofrio, and the terror of drum sticks everywhere, Tony Virgillio. Deus Absconditus have honed their material and intense live performance with regular gigging throughout the Chicago area and will release their debut EP, Demogorgon, October 8th. Hordes of groupies and a drug-fueled break-up will follow directly.
