About Me

Nesto had always been into dance, and even from and early age he was choreographing hip-hop step routines. In 1998, Nesto was introduced to the dance scene and was amazed by the music. He was a strict junglist until a year later, when his ears picked up on the groovy vibes of DEEP HOUSE. Moved by the likes of Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, Doc Martin, Miguel Migs, M3 and Prophets of Sound, Nesto frequented the San Francisco and Sacramento house scenes.
In 2002 nesto was soon undertaken by an addiction for mixing records. A couple years of perfecting his sound made him feel eager and ready to try his hand at organizing events in his hometown, Stockton, CA. A few folks had already left some promising examples, such as Jayson Kincaid and Mike Caccam’s Grooves-in-the-Park, an ever-growing deep house day party held twice a year, every year in Stockton.
He decided to lay more focus on honing his own musical styles. In 2003, Nesto found himself at the Tribal Souls one year anniversary party in Oakland. It was here that he met Phil and Jesse, and it was here where he got back in touch with his dark side. Instantly falling in love with deep tech house, Nesto came back every month for great vibes, dancing till dawn, and headliners like you wouldn’t believe. He knew Tribal Souls parties were living legends, and he wanted to help foster the cause. He supported the parties and the djs and promoted with Phil and Jesse often.
After the Oakland monthly was disbanded, Nesto played with them at various venues, like the Fat Cat in Modesto and Club 6 in SF. The culmination of his experiences with different styles of house - and dance music in general - has sculpted Nesto’s sound into something quite unique and versatile, though he has never betrayed his roots in funk and tribal. Furthermore, his ever-growing enthusiasm for dance music has motivated Nesto to develop his skills as a producer.
Today as a Tribal Souls resident, Nesto has bounced around among various bay area bars and parties,Grooves In The Park including the Lingba Lounge, the Gallery Lounge, Sno-Drift, and an Otherworld underground. He has even rekindled a desire to spruce up the nightlife in Stockton, co-running a weekly at Brandenburg’s, called Monday Night Grooves, which has been surprisingly successful and running on its second year. It's really a hit and miss... lol
