With reason.
Wilco is the pick of the day. Jeff Tweedy just amazes me. The Beatles are never far outside my CD player either. From there there's U2, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Duncan Sheik, John Mayer. Then maybe some weird stuff like the Kronos Quartet, Charles Ives...William Albright. Then we come to guilty pleasures, Rush, Duran Duran, maybe even (God help me) Avril Levigne???
Deadman
I don't have a television, if someone can convince me why I should get one, I'd like to hear it.
Jitterbug Perfume. Illusions. Time Enough for Love. As I Lay Dying. Fast Food Nation (read this! It's about all of us!) Diet for a new America. The Beatles Gear (kind of geeky, but I embrace it)
Donald Sinta is my hero. He was my saxophone teacher in college, and probably the best musician I have ever known. His ability to be tender and then turn around and rip your head off was unreal. I still think of my lessons with him fondly and let them drive my practice and work today. Daswell Campbell is a hero of mine too, math teacher in high school who is just an amazing thinker. Sting, as a person and concept, but lately his music is lacking to say the least.
