The 2007 World Flute Fest is part of Daniel Pearl World Music Days and will take place on Saturday, November 3rd from 1-5pm at the stately Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland, California. Featured performers: Skip Healy- Internationally-acclaimed Irish Wooden Flutist and Flute Maker, Ravichandra Kulur-Indian Bansuri player currently on a world tour with Anoushka Shankar (daughter of Ravi Shankar), Jazz Legend Roger Glenn, Philip Gelb-Shakuhachi, Foremost Composer of 20th and 21st century music, Pauline Oliveros- (Accordion), Stephen Schultz- Baroque flute, Carol Alban- Modern Classical Composer, Principal Flute, Bay Area Chamber Symphony, Tom Bickley - Composer, Recorder Player, Eric Fraser-Bansuri, Tim Barsky-Beat-boxing flutist, Alvenson Moore (vocalist), Kai Eckhardt (legendary bassist from the John McLaughlin Trio, Summit) the San Francisco Flute Quartet, Nancy Tyler, Antonia David (Music from the Philippines), Fluteville Flute Choir, Suzanne Thorpe (flute), Chuck Johnson (guitar), Suellen Primost (cello) , Savannah Lack (violin)and others.
