Tammy Lando is one of Nashvilles best-kept secrets, but this secret is one thats bound to get out. Between singing at Nashville hot spots like Denim & Diamonds and Graham Central Station, and writing and recording new songs, theres plenty happening to attract the attention of music directors and song writers - like being asked to record and perform her new special edition country CD for Red Man © and Swedish Match © this spring.
Tammy was born and raised 23 short years ago in Springfield, Ohio. Like so many country performers, she began singing in church at age 5, and winning prizes in area singing and talent contests.
She knew her music would take her somewhere when she performed on the Grand Ole Opry Christmas Special at only age 11. She also performed at many AMVETS benefits for under-privileged children, and for the VFW - including projects for muscular dystrophy, organ transplants, and Cerebral Palsy fundraising events.
Also as a child she performed across Michigan and Canada with the legendary Bobby Bare. At age 14, she moved to Nashville with her family, where she began singing every week at Nashville Palace and Nashville Nightlife. This created enough notice for her to start doing music demo work for several Nashville composers, and to begin her own songwriting career at age 15. By this time, her wholesome good looks and effervescent personality had garnered her a contract with Worldwide Modeling Agency, where she quickly became a modeling instructor.
More recently, she has hosted variety and music shows in Nashville, and after some time out for family, has continued her singing and recording career.
