HAMISH DUTTON

Rock'n'roll MAN

About Me

Born in Byron Bay Australia 1982 Hamish Dutton grew up in Queenslands southeast with music in his blood. The son of Star maker quest winner (1985) Geoff Dutton, his earliest memories was learning to play the guitar. He started playing at 6 and by his teens seemed determined to follow in his father’s footsteps. Stevie ray Vaughan and the sounds of the Hendrix inspired blues revolution heavily influenced Hamish’s musical style and it was through this that he gained his first steady band work. Hamish played for 5 years with South East Queensland Band ’Grimal Kin’ before leaving to pursue a solo career. Four years ago when Hamish burst onto the solo music scene on the Gold Coast he caused a stir and ever since has been completely booked out and solidly sought after, he has gone from strength to strength. After living in Sydney and writing for the past year or so he is more determined than ever. Hamish’s musical ability has even taken him overseas where he was contracted in Europe. Fulfilling residencies four to five nights a week Hamish has quickly become one of the most reliable and recognized solo acts in the South East Queensland region. The reasons for this are simple, crowds have a great time and venues make money. With his outstanding guitar technique and his breathtaking vocals Hamish draws on his huge song list always leaving the audiences wanting more.
