ASYLUM
Early 2002 frontman Angelis La Vantae formed Asylum after being inspired by Manson, Rammstein, Cradle of Filth, Mushroom Head, Fear Factoty and Slipknot, the film Trilogy 'The Prophecy' starring Christopher Walken and the PC/Playstation game 'Shadowman'. The main idea of Asylum Who bring a solid wall of Dark but energetic alternative metal/gothic style music to the stage is based around a concept, a story of Angels and Demons who are fighting a last war on earth to decide the fate of mankind, this story and the song lyrics support the music and the dark aggressive attitude of Asylum which comes through on a very powerful level.
Character names are part of the concept of Asylum and each member represents a character in the story, Asylum wanted to have fun with the band and go for this fictional element in the hopes of creating a vast world in which their music tells often cryptic stories of Love, Faith and free will and aims to pose questions about who we are as a species and if we are truly alone in the world or if there is some invisible and ineffable force that guides our destinies.
Over the life of Asylum they have played many gigs and supported bands such as
The Damned, Torso Horse, Avoidence of doubt, The Black Velvets, Malibu Stacey and Pro-ject and recently supported Inkubus Sukkubus, Voices of Masada and Cybercide at the Carnival of Souls in Derby on the 25th March 2007
With their first full lenght Album now in its initial planning stage Asylum are set to deliver a dark glimpse into their world and will deliver the goods in full force.
