T.R.U RECORDS RECORDING ARTIST MARK HORTON a/k/a M-11 SPITTA was born and raised in the infamous Magnolia Projects located in the heart of uptown
..My mother was a hard working woman who held a variety of jobs and tried to do her best to raise us in a good environment. On the other hand my father nickname "Snipe" was a drug dealer. Ironically, my parents did not want us to grow up surrounded by the circle of death, rat infested hallways and drugs, which my father was a perpetuator of the drug environment of which we were trying to evade. My father believed that selling drugs would help fill the financial gap, while my mother continued to work hard to find a better environment for me and my siblings. At the age of eleven my parents moved us out of the projects and into a middle class neighborhood right across the avenue on De La Chaise Street. Even though we had moved out of the Magnolia Projects we were still within walking distance of the projects, and I always found a way to get back there to hangout with my friends. Many artists claim that they have been rappin since they were born, I can honestly say that I am not going to lie to you, I have been rappin since I was about 15.and didn’t take its serious intil i was bout 21year old. I try to keep it 100, which is a trait I gained from my lifestyle of living in the projects, where your word can be your glory or your demise. I was a street hustler turned rapper, and this change in my lifestyle occurred after being incarcerated for two years in Louisiana for probation violation. While living in New Orleans, I had attained the friendship of New Orleans heavy hitters like Soulja Slim (deceased) of cutttroat commity, MAC, C-Murder the younger brother of Master P, Christopher Dorsey a/k/a Baby Gangsta, B Grizzle or simply BG for short who signed with Cash Money Records in 1992, and his partner in crime Mr. Marcelo from the 504 Boyz. However, after a few months of proving to these great artists that I was serious about rapping, they allowed me to become a ghost writer for various unsigned artists that were recording with them. In 1998, I joined Tuff Guys Entertainment, where I was a protégé of Mr. Marcelo. As a protégé of Mr. Marcelo, I became the head of the promotional team set-up under Priority Records where the rapper c-murder started tru records and had a distribution deal with Prioritys CEO and founder, Bryan Turner. During this time I began to diligently write lyrics hoping for the chance to break into the music scene. and this caused many up and coming artists, including myself to start from scratch. I went back to what I knew best, I went back home and back to the streets. In late August 2005, me and my family were displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Although we were displaced for a short while, one door closed, but the window of opportunity open back up when C-Murder was successful in having his sentence overturned in 2006, and was subsequently released in wait of a new trial.I feel that my lyrical style reflects my lifes experiences which cannot be replicated. I hope to establish myself as one of the biggest rap artists in the /2-1.jpg" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"
