Rock band MESNER make a return this Autumn, with the release of their long awaited single Where is Your Head At? on August 24th, following a successful 18 month stint in Los Angeles. This will be the bands first single from their debut album Illegally Mellow which will be released later in the year.
The band is best remembered for their electric live performances in the late 1990’s and early 2000 and for their chart-topping singles on the Irish indie chart. Whilst in LA, the band have been writing new material, developing the band’s sound and recording their debut album, Illegally Mellow. The album, which was produced by LA rock producer Mark Paladino (Fleetwood Mac, Billy Idol, Bernie Taupin), will be released on their own independent label and features 11 strong original tracks that range from uptempo rock anthems like Only For You, NM Stone and Where Is Your Head At to more chilled, subdued tracks like Picture, Everyone’s In Need and title track Illegally Mellow.
MESNER secured high profile support slots and headline shows during their spell in LA, on the infamous Sunset Strip, playing in venues such as The Viper Room, The Roxy, The Cat Club and The Whisky A Go Go. The band also worked with top Hollywood video production house DNA and have shot big budget videos for their forthcoming singles, of which Where Is Your Head At will be the first. The album, Illegally Mellow, will be released in November and will be followed by live dates and an extensive promotional tour both in Ireland and the US.
MESNER, fronted by Brendan McEvoy on lead vocals/guitar, together with Mark Alfred on drums/backing vocals and Balage Antal on lead guitar, is sounding bigger and better than ever before, armed with an edgy alternative rock sound, exceptional musicianship and inspired song writing. This Irish band have come a long way to bring the project this far independently and are determined to make their long awaited debut album a massive success on both sides of the Atlantic.
