awestruck

Hello everyone. Stevie here. I am fired up about a worship project I am working on called “Awestruck”. There are several reasons I am fired up. For starters first and foremost I love to worship. I find a joy that fills my soul with purpose when I find myself in the presence of Our sovereign and almighty God. There seems to be an effortlessness in finding myself surrounded by His love when I go before Him with a heart of worship. But there are also times when worship can become stale. In that worship in large seems to not be going anywhere as far as musical creativity. Every since I was a pup I can remember singing the same worship songs with the same predictable key changes in the same church settings. It’s true that God looks at the hearts of worship. But my heart has been wanting more out of worship. And in worship you only get what you give.While spending the last 3 years in Tulsa I have become friends with some of the most incredible talents in the next generation of music. My good friend Jacob Wright, founder and lead singer of the band “Lightworks” has co-written most of the tracks on the Awestruck project. Awestruck thus far has been a long and persevering road. Jacob and myself spent 2 years in the writing process alone coming up with the songs for the album. And then it happened. Costa founder and composer of the band “Straight Lines” also out of Tulsa, Oklahoma began working with us on our first song entitled “Catch The Fire”. Costa is a true prodigy and master composer who has tapped into a musical dimension that I can only refer to as God’s handy work. I finally sense the breakthrough that I have been waiting for in the art of worship.
