Born and raised in Memphis TN, the new up coming Rap Artist Young Za’ is on the rise. The city of Memphis is known for its rich heritage of R&B icons, such as Al Green, Isaac Hayes, B.B. King, and Stax Records. All of the aforementioned and then some have given the city its deep soulful roots. But Memphis rap sensation, 22 year old Young Za is confident that his rap sounds will help Memphis also become known for its hip hop talents. Young Za latest studio efforts features songs that tell the tale of life as a young impressionable male encountering the streets of Memphis.The songs theme-lines tell the hardcore stories that ring true to so many young men in almost any city. But Za experienced that life on a first-hand basis. So instead of becoming yet another statistic of the streets, he decided to create his own numbers via record sales. National names like NWA, Tupac, Run DMC and Bones/Thugs/Harmony, were early influences that inspired the young rap artist to express himself with a pen instead of a gun.By high school, he had written over a 400 songs. Local rappers such as LaChat, Gangsta Boo, Yo Gotti, and others on the scene encouraged his performing style. Within a short time Za and his look-alike friend, Bling Bling, started the group Thug Angels. The teen rap duos were a favorite among the Memphis hip-hop social scene, performing at numerous functions and events throughout the Memphis hip hop culture spots.After high school graduation, Zas lyrics had become more reflective and reality, as in the song Life Aint Promised. The song talks about being a young black man and how seconds, minutes or hours are not promised to anyone Its a hard lifeLosing loved ones just different kinds of pain. It was fate intermingled with destiny for Za to pursue a career in music. Both parents offered constructive criticism and encouraging support when it was time for him to record his 3-song demo, which features the tracks Im From, Life aint promised and Shake it and Pop It.At age 22, Young Za realizes there are still more dues to be paid but he says thats okay.
