Love conquers all evil

About Me

About CynthiaCynthia began playing the piano at the age of four and the viola at the age of twelve. She joined the Oklahoma Youth Symphony at fourteen and later traveled to places like Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary and The Czech Republic and even won a coveted position in the Quartz Mountain Orchestra at the tender age of fifteen. She then attended Cornell University and studied biochemistry but found her true love would always be music. Her songwriting culminated about that same time on the piano doing instrumental songs with her solo project called Irion. Several years later she began singing and incorporating guitar into the process and wrote several dozen folk rock songs. She started performing those songs with her band in the midwest and opened for Grammy Award Winner Barbara Bailey Hutchison in 1999.
That same year she organized The Work of Their Hands, a Music Festival, which benefited the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and was a huge success. The event, a tribute to her mother's fatal fight with breast cancer, ran 2 years longer than she had originally planned through 2001 due to the requests of local bands and music enthusiasts drawing in several thousand concert goers and giving dozens of bands a chance to be heard. Never once was a cover charge required to enter this beautiful event which raised over $10,000, a landmark by all grass root effort standards.
Over the past nine years Cynthia has released 3 albums, Irion-Self Title Debut, Sapphire Mood and Paper Vessels & Plastic Ladders and she has written and recorded hundreds of songs. The songs represented above are somewhat older ranging from 1997-2003. You can purchase her music through SnoCap music stores and on other various music sites on the net. Currently, Cynthia is working with several other musicians on a collaborative project that is going to be kept under wraps until completion. Check back for more info!

In her words: It's really simple. You don't choose music. It chooses you. Step away from it and it WILL betray you. So hold it close. Embrace it. Give it everything you have...no matter how little or great that may be. This is the beginning...again...for my first true love. Songwriting. Enjoy and God Bless.
