Let me tell you about KATASTROPHY WIFE. The 'All Kneel' line-up are pictured below (R-L; Kat Bjelland, Andrew Parker, Vanessa White and Darren Donovan). My, my what a racket they did make. One of the noisiest, scariest and unflinchingly brutal albums I've had on the old hi-fi! An awesome streak of unrelenting sonic punishment that flits candidly between raw fully charged punk and agitated grunge-core! Searing punked out riffs! 60s girl band harmonies! Insanity-gloom-warped rock! Head shredding angular stoner punk! Kat Bjelland sounds like Siouxsie Sioux doing her best fucked up Johnny Rotten impersonation! Add to that a riotous onslaught of noise-nik terror courtesy of Andrew Parker and what you get is an irresistible and unrepentant record! (It's all here; revenge fucking, ex-boyfriends, addiction, illness, cigarettes, pills, child killers, anal sex and ice-cream, oh and a tribute to the late Layne Staley of Alice In Chains). Why I can't stop listening to this record is anyones guess... A truly troubled mess o' blues!
