Jhonny Luegar’s career began in 1997 with a Warner Bros. Demo deal with the group Da Vagabonds, along with Haziq Ali. Although that deal eventually fell though, the group went on to make serious noise in the underground. While continuing to pursue his musical interest, Luegar landed on Dark City Records and played a significant role in Dark City receiving a distribution deal from Tommy Boy Records in 1998 and appeared on the 1999 release “Guilty by Association”. Luegar took his Dark City experience and along with former Vagabond member Haziq Ali, and founded Organized Rhyme Family in 1999. From there, he went on to make a District of Columbia Street Classic “What’ll They Get a Load of Me”, featuring the hood smashes “I Don’t Want It If It’s Easy” and “Hard Times”. Keeping his ear and name in the street, Luegar appeared on four volumes of Organized Rhyme Family MixCd’s and two DVDs. Luegar’s style is unique, with rapid-fire delivery and intense lyricism Jhonny uses true emotions to make his unique upbringing felt by the listener. His new release “Here’s Jhonny” features appearances by Rap-a-Lot recording artists Yukmouth and Devin the Dude. With “Here’s Jhonny” Jhonny Luegar has created a project that will firmly entrench himself and the District of Columbia in the ever changing hip-hop landscape.
