But seriously...
I had the itch to make movies since my Aunt Carol gave me a wind-up Kodak Brownie back when I was 8. I shot a little bit of 8mm. And that was it until about 32 years later. Why did it take so long? Well, without going into the nuts and bolts of it, life happened.
I'm back biotch!
At one time for many millenia, I thought I'd never ever make movies. Or should I say I didn't think? All that time I was writing or at least taking notes for story concepts. Now that I've re-kindled the flame, I have tons of stories and ideas that really, really need to be made into movies. If I were to make each and every one, since I'm starting a the late age of over forty, and at my present rate of progress, I would have to stay alive for another 80 years at least. Now that's a goal!
Nut Shell
I didn't have any money when I made my first movie. No credit cards (actually I had credit cards, they were maxed). No personality enough to ask people for money to make a movie. Besides, I needed to experiment before using someone else's cash. So, the only option I had was to make a movie for less than $2000. I was told it was impossible. I was told I wouldn't be able to keep the actors. I was told many negatives, but I proved them all wrong.
I became a member at the Community Media Center of Santa Rosa, CA. for only a $40 annual fee; After a bit of purgatory, I realized I needed to get out of my depression and make something unprecedented at the media center... make a feature length movie for public access. So, the movie was made for under $2K using volunteer actors, public access equipment and it shows. Shows that if I had enough money I would've kicked ass!

My Interests

I prefer science fiction, fantasy, psychological, horror and/or comedy movies, however I will probably work on projects of any genre.

movies (duh!)
exploratory hiking
quantum mechanics
mysticism
ancient civilizations
The Celts
Irish and Scottish history
mythology and legends
astronomy
paranormal stuff
world peace
a world wide religion (only as religion is necessary)

I'd like to meet:

1) Myself from the future. With the winning Lotto numbers, of course.
2) The person who invented words.
3) The person who invented the wheel.
4) The person who first used fire without getting burned.
5) Any person who thinks cannabis is bad. Only until I slap some sense into them.
6) The first person who reached nirvana.
7) My soul mate. She is of Irish decent and has dark hair. She has beautiful eyes and a beautiful smile. She is interested in ancient civilizations and the paranormal. She is extremely into movies perhaps even an actress or director. She is very understanding and loyal. Now, where is she?? Some may say I'm a dreamer...

Reviews:
Shadow Beings "Not everyone can make a quality film worthy of parting you from your hard earned money however,... SHADOW BEINGS is thankfully well worth a couple of hours of your time. ...this is intelligent genre cinema ... [Charles] Bryan has achieved some stunning compositions with his textural photography and shadow play montages... This is good strong drama... If this is what Charles Bryan can do with such meagre means on his debut film, I can't wait to see the next one! You should definitely check this film out..." - Lee Bailes, RumourMachine.com
Movie Synopsis:
Shadow Beings The Evil Ones have been trapped in-between the worlds for millennia. They cannot cross the veil that separates our physical world from their realm without help from this side. During a s..ance, lead by En'Kara (Tracie Minkoff), five friends unwittingly open a portal through the veil, which helps the Evil Ones to take possession of humans. Those who are unable to take a host appear as shadow beings, fleeting glimpses unable to manifest physically.
Brien (Evan Johnson) follows a shadow being through the veil to a parallel universe. He ends up finding his chase, Enki (Scott Carrillo), who relates to him the philosophy on true nature of the universe. Brien learns that he has been charged with stopping the Evil Ones from crossing over before the number of their entities reaches critical mass, thus bringing down the veil.
The possessed Aliester (Paul Martinez) tries one last time to help his brethren cross over the veil. Brien thwarts his efforts by changing reality as he becomes one with the veil.
Without the veil, there is no separation of the manifest from the unmanifest; the order of our universe would revert to the chaos before creation.
