Up until recently Openair consisted of members Mo Volans and Dan Mckie but after deciding to take different directions Openair is now solely Mo's production and DJ project...
Mo has been releasing and performing his own material for about a decade, with output on such labels as Subversive, Multiply, Global Underground and Positiva to name but a few.
He has also remixed a long list of artists including Phats and Smalls, Dj Taucher, Giselle Jackson and the Three Degrees. He now also records under the names MoHawk and twisted Air with material signed to Subversive, Global Underground, Spica (USA) and Baroque (currently recieving support from the likes of Steve Lawler, Pete Tong, Scott Bradford and Nick Fanciulli)... he has also recently had tracks signed for use on CSI: NYC and igh profile Sony playstation games through hi spublisher Roxx Music ...
In the 3 years Mo and Dan were working together they remixed the likes of The Young Punx (Mofo Hifi), Playmaker, Tears for Fears (AATW), Onyx (Ministry Of Sound), CeCe Penniston (Positiva), Alison Limerick (Angel Reef), Sirocco (Ovenready), J Punch (System US), The Dub Pistols (Distinctive Breaks), Pornorama (Effin/Sony), Bhangra Knights (Lowered) amongst others; as well as signing original material to Suesse Records, Global Underground, Skint/Loaded, Minimal Records and Ovenready. They also licensed tunes in the USA through a few labels including System Recordings and Effin Records...
The most successful original production to date is the sample heavy 'Hi Roller (This Music)' has received great response worldwide and went on to win Judge Jules Web Chart after weeks of continuous airplay on Radio One it also received various support from Club Dj's such as Roger Sanchez, Sasha, Judge Jules, Junior Jack etc etc and Radio Stations Globally.
Expect to see more upfront Openair releases and remixes in the near future... a truly fresh Openair sound is on the way !!
Mo also plans to take his Abelton live show further afield after playing recent gigs in Kazakhstan, Switzerland, Las Vegas, Washington DC and and on Radio shows for Galaxy FM, ID&T and MOS radio.
