ACHTUNG JACKASS

About Me

THE FRUSTRATORS are frustrating, and they just don't care. It's hard to pigeonhole or put them in any specific category. It's rare to see them live. One thing is for sure - the band has its roots in an eclectic mix of styles. From elements of new wave punk with a bit of country twang, to moments of straight-ahead ball-busting hard rock, their unique collaborations make for some unexpected punk rock. All presented with top-notch musicianship and a flair for humor.
Who are THE FRUSTRATORS?
Jason Chandler (vocals, artwork) /Terry Linehan (guitar, backing vocals) /Art Tedeschi (drums)hail from the New England region of these United States. In the past, they busked along the East Coast in bands like WATERDOG and VIOLENT ANAL DEATH before reuniting on the west coast. Nights in the East Bay bars with their old tour acquaintanceMike Dirnt (bass, backing vocals) best known for his four-string role in GREEN DAY, led to produce this fearsome foursome. The rest, as they say, is history.
They have several recordings on Adeline. Bored In The USA was the debut EP released in February 2000. It is a twisting trip through the dusty trails of punk rock and roll. Eight catchy, heart wrenching songs that cover subjects like alienation, unrequited love for rotting food and midgets used for sport. "Fun without being shallow, classic without being retro and cool without really trying" said Lollipop Magazine (Boston, MA). Next was a tune titled "Trout" on Adeline's first ever compilation CD "Might As Well Can't Dance". The artwork features the curious "dinner table" scene photo with infamous manager Jimmy Zeus.
Then in 2002 came their second EP and 10" record, Achtung Jackass! "Overall I would say that the tone of this record lyrically is more complex and emotional than the first with lots of funny stuff along the way" described Jason Chandler, "and musically, although it still has a lot of variety like Bored In The USA, I think we hit more solidly into a 'sound' on this one." Introspective numbers such as "AAA" and "The Crasher", and darker tunes like "25" show a fresh maturity. But there's plenty of the usual FRUSTRATORS infamous comedy on songs like "Frustrators Jingle" and the side-splitting "Pirate Song". Whatever your bag, THE FRUSTRATORS are sure to get your attention!
