I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

bell hooks offers this in Feminism is for Everybody: "As is often the case in revolutionary movements for social justice we are better at naming the problem than we are at envisioning the solution. Feminist efforts to end male violence against women must be expanded into a movement to end all forms of violence."I do not wish to save the world. The Earth, its people, and its land are not passive entities that need rescuing. We well-meaning geniuses must acknowledge and believe that the world is a truly, dynamic, viable force capable of determining its own destiny and discovering its unique voice--We ought to listen.I'm a single mama to a FANTASTIC little human.

My Interests

My Daughter, Old Souls, New Humans, Childcare, Breastfeeding, Mothering, Baby Sign Language, and Attachment Parenting. Also, radical politics and organizing, visionary feminism, building community, dance parties, fashion, fat activism, slam poetry, great independent film, acupuncture, and artists of all persuasions make me tingle. I enjoy perusing through used bookstores and second-hand clothing shops in search of breath-taking treasures. I find additional delectation in rocking out, making out, making luv, making art, peer-counseling, promoting a love ethic, gazing into outerspace, competitive walking, basking in the glorious sunshine, having adventures, hating on post-modernism, interpretative dancing, discussing important matters over tea, and harnessing the brainpower of the brilliant to implement radical change--or at least have a cool Saturday afternoon or something.

I'd like to meet:

If you think you're inspiring OR you wanna help my garden grow, I definitely want to meet you. Also, I'd like to know: Isabelle Allende, Yayaoi Kusama, and bell hooks. Beyond that, I'm interested in networking with radical folks, peer-counselors, size queens, and consciousness-raising types around the Portland and Honolulu areas. I'd like to connect with other student parents, radical families, and single mamas and their little (or big) ones.
