BIG Narstie is the largest and most exciting artist to emerge on the UK music scene for 2006. Hailing from Brixton, South London , Narstie, along with his group N.A.A. made his name by setting up and running his own pirate radio station entitled On Top FM. His reputation grew quickly, and it wasn’t long before his monthly event Top Boy became the biggest under 18 dance in South London .
Narstie went on to collaborate with many different acts from the area that he lives in ( South London ) Brixton. He has been featured in many videos on Channel U and MTV Base, and for this reason his next move has been highly anticipated.
He is the newest artist to sign up to London ’s biggest urban independent label Dice recordings. The company is well known for it’s eye for rising talent, after being prominent in the success of artists such as Shystie, Skepta, and P Jam.
Narstie is currently in the middle of recording his debut album, which is set to be one of the most groundbreaking albums of it’s time, supporting the continual popularity of U.K street music. The album is scheduled to be released early in 2007.
This year Narstie will continue his quest for underground supremacy by releasing a set of promotional Mix CD’s…the first being a lifestyle CD/DVD entitled “Im betta than you Vol.1” which was released on March 13 th 2006 . Big Narstie also has a string of hot videos soon to be released, which will surely add to the star’s popularity.
BIG Narstie is more than an urban icon, he is one of the pioneering artists in this years musical introduction of the U.K Grindie scene, he done this by innovatively creating (along with producer P Jam), this years hottest track “Spun a web” which is a twist of U.K Grime cleverly mixed with the Cold Play Classic ‘Trouble” this track has already caused a tremendous stir in the industry, and has been supported by the fact that it’s been play listed on Radio 1xtra, and has also been heavily rotated on Kiss 100.
Narstie is definitely an artist whose charismatic attitude and persistent hunger is sure to entertain anyone who is blessed by his presence.
He is scheduled to be a part of the highly successful sit com, which is soon to be filmed entitled; Dub plate drama 2, This show was a nation wide hit which was shown on Channel 4, MTV, and Channel U earlier this year. He is also starring in the soon to be released Urban feature film “ London State of mind” …this film has already created a massive hype, and is set to be an Urban cult classic.
Along with Narstie’s features in adverts on MTV Base, and Channel U, BIG Narstie will not be short of exposure, and for this reason we expect nothing less than success for this rising star.
