Asia was born and raised in Hollis Queens, New York; she comes from a Dominican and African-American background and has maintained a strong connection to her roots. She is bilingual and her upcoming album features songs in English and in Spanish.Asia had a star quality even as a child, her first Performance as a dancer was for Studio A at six years old. Asia grew as a performer, she danced for Key Women of America and the Children of Freetown in Antigua West Indians. At twelve she joined the Dance Theatre of Harlem. From there Asia was discovered and signed to New York New York modeling agency.Asia gained a wider audience through her film and television debuts. She starred or appeared in music videos for artists Little Kim, Benzino, Graph, and R&B group Profit Jones. She also appeared in the hit movie Brown Sugar. In the midst gaining exposure as a dancer and actress, Asia developed a love for singing. She went to an arts high school majoring in music and dance, and with the guidance of her mother, she started stepping out as a recording artist. Her first vocal performances were opening for major acts. Asia performs with backup dancers and captures audiences with her energy and choreography reminiscent of Janet Jackson, Madonna and Jennifer Lopez.Asia is more than just a singer and dancer. She is a role model for the young people in her neighborhood and her younger family members. Asia's hard work and determination make her stand out from most teenagers. She never took interest in parties, drinking, or smoking. Growing up as an only child with a young single mother allowed her to see many true struggles of life. As a result, Asia wants to create a path for young girls with no father figures. Asia will reassure those girls that they dont have to look outside of themselves to fit in.Asia was raised around Hip-hop and R&B music but has always gravitated toward Pop artists and songs. Her music is a blend of Pop, Hip-Hop and R&B. Asia is now working on her LP with the help of Marcus Bellringer Bell, YoungLord and various producres whom which she writes and arranges her own music. Asia is also one of the top models for the clothing line Noamore Collections,{www.noamorecollections.com} which is owned by her mother who is also her manager.
