About Me

Junta's incarnation occurred sometime in 1998, and has since remained a dedicated and creative endeavor. The two original members, Chris Paris (guitar) and Ian McCartney (guitar), have remained ardently committed to the music of junta throughout the years. Among the bands recordings are a self-released demo, a split 7 inch with Chapter on Failsafe Records (1,000 printed and sold), a 7 inch on Dogprint Records (1,000 printed and sold), a self-financed demo CD (500 printed, sold and reviewed), and a self-financed 45 minute full length cd recorded at Stained Glass Studios by Jayson Dezuzio (1,000 printed, distributed and reviewed). Newer members of the band include: Juan Soaz on bass guitar, Pablo Carpio on drums, and Giovannie DeArrastia on vocals. With each new member the band has become more in tune with its goals and more aware of its capabilities.After regularly playing weekend shows in MA, CT, NY, NJ and a mini-tour along the east coast, junta went back into the studio in May of 2005 and recorded Organic Machine at Trax East Studios (God Forbid, Hatebreed, Dillinger Escape Plan). The result was a tight 4-song EP consisting of their most recent material. .junta. is currently recording all new material that will be showcased in the near future.
