Breathy melodic vocals laced with pure guitar layers touch your ears. Eldridge's style provides a fresh sound of acoustic roots pop rock. His original lyrics are mature, honest, and deep, exploring themes of relationships, soul-searching, hopelessness, love, and spirituality.
With more than a decade of performances and more than fifty songs recorded, Matthew's songwriting has put him on CD's with artists such as 7mary3 and Peter Frampton, and has offered him the opportunities to share the stage with a number of nationally recorded platinum and gold selling artists and bands.
Born and raised in Orlando, FL (Matchbox twenty, 7mary3, Creed), Eldridge recently transplanted to the wonderful city of Atlanta, GA (John Mayer, Collective Soul, Third Day, Casting Crowns, Shawn Mullins), where he can be found playing around the entire metro Atlanta area. He's a regular at Club 908 for their songwriter series, and leads contemporary worship each Sunday at Crossroads United Methodist Church. With a variety of venues throughout Atlanta, Eldridge prefers coffeehouses and plays them quite frequently. "There's just something about the coffeehouse atmosphere that draws me," says Eldridge. "Oh, and ofcourse, the coffee, especially when it's free."
A polygot on instruments, Eldridge is leaning towards more earthy sounds on his latest album, to be released sometime in early 2008.
Matthew is also a husband to an incredible woman of God and has three very young children.
