About Me

What is Gracie Jiu-Jitsu? Unlike most other martial arts, it involves no spectacular throws and kicks and no ceremonial bows. Unlike boxing, it has no punching. And unlike virtually every other fighting technique, it does not rely on brute strength. Part of the appeal of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is that smaller men - and women - can triumph over heavyweights. It is a form of self-defense that takes place almost entirely on the ground. Fighters use snakelike grappling moves to choke their opponent, or, with the weight of their entire body, they press against key joints, bringing them close to a breaking point. Losers acknowledge defeat simply by tapping their fingers on the ground as if to say "Enough!". We are located just off the Scranton Expressway on 119 Mulberry Street in what used to be the North American Warhorse building. If you can recall artwork of an indian on a horse on the side of a building, then you know just where we are! I look forward to seeing those interested in MMA, UFC, and Pride, as well as ones wishing to learn the world's most effective martial art, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu! Braveheart, Pirates of the Carribean: The Curse of the black Pearl, and Pitch Black are among my favorites. Can just as easily watch a deep drama (Confessions of a Dangerous Mind), belly busting comedy (Road Trip), or (on sparing occasions) a chick flick (How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days - yeah, lived it)!

Can not miss CSI and Ultimate Fight Night! Also Law and Order Criminal Intent (Vincent Denofrio - not Chris Noth).
