About Me

Hey Friends
Welcome to the new and improved Troy Harmer Music myspace site. This site is designed to include all the information you could possibly need about the Troy Hamer Band as well as updates about some of my other musical endeavors.
Since 1993, I have been blessed with the opportunity to make a living teaching and performing music. As is the case with most full-time working musicians, I play with several different groups.
Some of the other bands I play with include:
Rumours(Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band
Pop The Hood (New and Classic Rock Covers)
Crank (New and Classic Rock Covers)
Whipped Cream (Tijuana Brass Tribute)
The Troy Harmer Band remains the project closest to my heart because it offers me a chance to truly express my creative side through writing, performing and recording my own original music.
Most of the songs featured here on myspace are recordings by the Troy Harmer Band but occasionally I will post some other stuff that I have played on. Please check back often because each month there will be different songs and new live recordings.
If you like what you hear please take a moment to send me a message or post a comment. If you really like it the greatest thing you can do to help me out is tell someone else about it. Post a bulletin, send an e-mail, download my songs, burn some cds and spread the word.
Browsing through myspace, it never ceases to amaze me just how many incredible artists and kick ass bands there are out there waiting to be discovered. In today’s music industry having ability and talent does not necessarily guarantee opportunities and success. I feel very privileged to have been able to make a living doing what I love.
Included in my top friends list are some of the great artists that have influenced my music and continue to inspire me. If you would like to discover some really exceptional music I urge you to check them all out. Thank you for taking the time to listen to my music on myspace.

About me
Although I like to think of myself as a complex and well-rounded individual, I believe I was put on earth to play music. It is through music I can best express myself and connect with other people. When performing I feel complete and assured that I am being true to my calling. My most marketable skills seem to be my singing and guitar playing because people have been offering me money to do those things for over 20 years. However I also enjoy playing saxophone, bass guitar, drums and congas.
For as long as I can remember I have been writing and recording music as a means of communicating my feelings. As a creative artist I try to make music that pleases me first and if other people like it when its finished that's a bonus. So far I have released 3 independent recordings.
Make It Happen -Infinity 1996
Without a Doubt -Troy Harmer and Infinity 1999
Mood For A Day -Troy Harmer Solo Guitar 2004
I am currently working on a new CD entitled (Born to Sing The Blues) some of the tracks from this forth coming release are available here on myspace.
    The Troy Harmer Band

The Troy Harmer Band is a guitar-driven quartet fuelled by the creative efforts of singer/songwriter/guitarist Troy Harmer. A gifted guitarist and a powerful vocalist, Harmer is an intense musician who pours his heart and soul into every captivating performance.
Formerly known as Troy Harmer and Infinity, the band's tough sound is characterized by slick grooves, funky riffs and raw energy. Best described as a jam-band the music explores creative freedom by featuring instrumental interplay, and improvised solos. When performing live, the band keeps things fresh and exciting by constantly re-interpreting their material. Guided by Troy's versatile guitar playing, the band is able to stretch out beyond typical stylistic barriers. With fluent musicianship the band bridges together blues, rock, funk and jazz influences to craft songs that are fresh while still maintaining the integrity of their traditional roots.
The combination of high caliber musicianship, strong songwriting and cutting edge live performances solidify the Troy Harmer Band as a rising presence on the Canadian music scene. MyGen Profile Generator
