About Me

(Portrait: February 1979 for Chinese New Year)
My name is Kai-Chi Huang and I am from Tainan City, Taiwan, Republic of China. I was born on June 5th, 1978.
Kai means triumph and Chi means rare jade. The meaning of my name is "be triumphant and be unique". Huang is my surname, and it means "the yellow color" originally. NGKAIKI is my full name pronounced in Southern-Min, so-called Taiwanese.
My first languages are Mandarin Chinese and Southern-Min Taiwanese (Holo).
In 2002 winter, I translated the booklet from Chinese to English of CD "Zero - Classical Choral Works of Taiwan" performed by Taipei Philharmonic Chamber Choir. This was my first time to translate for a published CD! This album won the "Best Classical Album" in 14th Golden Melody Award in 2003.
(I translated parts of the CD booklet of this album.)
Music is my life instead of part of my life. Therefore, what I am doing in my spare time is all about music like listening to music, surfing information about music I listen to, and reading some articles about sound equipments. My greatest dream come true might be establishing a coffee shop to exhibit CDs I collect and make friends in music or singing in an A Cappella group.
(Performing in front of the cafeteria in Tunghai University with the campus chorous.)
Ironically speaking, I like music so much but I have no talent in music but in langauge learning instead.
My favorite music genres are A Cappella, Treble, Choral, and Vocal. My preference for music is human voices but I also like instrumental music like New Age, Classical, and Jazz.
Aiming at being a music promoter, I am writing two e-papers as an amateur music promoter of (contemporary) acappella and treble music.

A Dead Pigeon

I saw a dead pigeon, more precisely speaking, a grinned pigeon, on the road this afternoon and I just rode by that pigeon.   I pitied that poor pigeon instead of feeling afraid.   Who kille...
