Making movies. Knowing more about Final Cut Pro than most. I love my Saturday nights downtown shooting pool and getting drunk and silly with my friends. Love cribbage, Internet Backgammon, and Solitaire Showdown on IM. I kick my sister's ass on a regular basis. Texas Hold'Em Poker at B's house. Working out, it allows me to eat all the peanut butter I want. All the regular stuff, reading, writing, watching movies. Waiting impatiently for the mailman to bring my new netflix. Fast forwarding through commercials on my TiVo. Buying threadless tee-shirts. And most of all, working out my plan for world domination.
Smart, funny people who don't take themselves too seriously. Or me for that matter. I'm almost always kidding.
Green Day is the band I annoy people with. I've loved them since 1992. I play their albums far too much. Also The Clash, The Killers, Joan Jett, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, Violent Femmes, The Cure, The White Stripes, Iron and Wine, The Shins. I'm more of a movie person. I'm too musically ignorant to list 100 diferent bands.
My favorite movie of all time is Star Wars. I mean the epic, not just the single movie, and yes that includes the new trilogy. They're chapters of a book. They may not be the best chapters, but I still love them. My second favorite movie is M. It's the most interesting film that no one outside of Ramirez-Burg's Film history class has ever seen. Next come the 1970's summer blockbusters: Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Arc, Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Anything by Spielberg or Lucas: THX-1138, American Graffiti, Jurassic Park, ET. Got to have the Henson creature movies: Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, Legend, Willow. Oh, can't forget the Lord of the Rings. Next comes the Hitchcock: The Birds, Psycho, Rebecca, Rope, Dial M for Murder. Now for the Docs: American Movie (made in my hometown) and Supersize Me. And Terry Gilliam's stuff: Time Bandits, The Fisher King, Twelve Monkeys. Some Comedies: Clue, The Princess Bride, The Full Monty, Saving Grace. Anything written by Charlie Kaufman. This is hard. There's too many.
Mystery Science Theater 3000, I miss you. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, miss you too. Survivor, Don't judge me. Highlander. Lost, Oh god, when will the new season start? Penn and Teller:Bullshit!
Skywalking: The Life and Films of George Lucas. The Lord of the Rings. Wise Children by Angela Carter. Anything by Neil Gaiman, American Gods, Good Omens. The Handmaid's tale and The Blind Assassin by Margret Atwood. She a beautiful writer but she's depressing as hell. Dune because it brings out the inner dork in me. The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. And Harry Poter. It's not my fault. Rowling puts subliminal messages in her books that turn reasonable adults into obsessive 9 year olds.
George Lucas is the master. And Sekhmet. If you know who that is you'll impress me.
